1. Who we are
Unity Tech ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based Managed Service Provider. We are the data controller for any personal information you share with us through this website, our forms, email or phone. You can reach our data team at hello@unity-tech.co.uk.
2. What we collect
We only collect data we genuinely need:
- Contact details you give us — name, business email, phone, company, employee headcount and the message you send (via the contact form, email or phone).
- Technical information from your visit — IP address, browser, device type, pages visited, referrer. Used for analytics and security only.
- Cookies — see our Cookies Policy for the full list.
We do not buy lists, scrape contacts or collect special-category data through this site.
3. How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and (with consent) keep you informed about IT services we think are relevant.
- To deliver and improve the services you've engaged us for — support, security, cloud and projects.
- To keep the website working, secure and fast (analytics + abuse prevention).
- To meet our legal, accounting and contractual obligations.
4. Lawful bases
We rely on:
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw at any time.
- Contract — to deliver services to clients.
- Legitimate interests — for analytics, security and responding to your enquiry.
- Legal obligation — accounting records, tax, regulatory requests.
5. Sharing your data
We use a small number of trusted processors to run our business — for example Microsoft 365 (email and storage), our CRM, our hosting provider and accountants. They only process data on our instruction, under written agreement, and inside the UK or EEA where possible.
We never sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK or EEA (e.g. some Microsoft services), we rely on UK adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses with appropriate supplementary measures.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months from last contact. Client records are kept for the duration of our engagement plus 6 years for accounting and contract obligations. Anonymous analytics is kept for up to 26 months.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to: confirm we hold your data, give you a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict our use of it, port it elsewhere, or object to processing. Email hello@unity-tech.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9. Security
We hold Cyber Essentials and operate ISO 27001-aligned processes. Access to personal data is restricted, encrypted in transit and at rest, and reviewed regularly. We will notify the ICO and affected individuals within 72 hours of any qualifying breach.
10. Changes
We may update this notice. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
